Firstly,
You do not need a fancy network setup to run IncaMSIncaMS has been developed to basically run on any windows operating system.
Testing is still in progress for Windows Vista and Windows 7 Support.
All the runtime libraries needed to run IncaMS has been included.
Network Preparation
After establishing a network, please change the computer names of your terminals to the following format.
Terminal--1
Terminal--2
Terminal--3ect.
You can do this:
Right Click on
My ComputerSelect
PropertiesSelect the
Computer name TabClick on the
Change ButtonThen
enter the new computer name in the provided field
Note: Leave Workgroup as is, changing it will affect the terminals availability on the network.The server computer name does not need to be setEnsure you have File and Printer Sharing enabled on the server.
The preferred method is
"Simple File Sharing"To set your Server Computer to Simple File Sharing Follow the following steps.
Go to
Control Panel, on the
Start MenuOpen the
Folder Options icon. (If its not displayed, select to display "Classic Control panel")
Select the
View Tab.
Scroll Down to the bottom of the
Advance Settings List
Ensure that
Use simple file sharing is ticked.
Download the IncaMS7 package and unzip it to your hard drive.
IncaMS7.zip contains 2 files: clientsetup7.exe and serversetup7.exe
Server Installation
serversetup7.exe is the setup file for the server program and its support files.
Copy this file to your designated server computer and run it to install.
(Note, some VB6 support files might be updated)
The server application should launch after setup is complete. (Double click on the icon on your server desktop to launch)
Setting up the Server
After the server has launched, please refer to the
admin menu for the settings.

Shop InformationProvide your shop information. This information is used on the printed receipts.

Misc SettingsThe only option you really need to set here is the number of terminals.
Changing the Shift Number might overwrite previous shift information, do not change unless you have to.
The Checkout Timeout, is a timer that runs on the checkout window, that closes it automatically. The terminal timer stops when checkout is selected.

Timer SettingsSet an audio wav file to play when a timer expires.

Specify a Printer to use for the cashups

Backup SettingsEnable or Disable Backups.
Backups can be made of the settings and stock files at regular intervals to ensure the limit of data loss.

ChargesHere we can create new charges and/or Edit existing ones.
When you edit a charge you will be prompted to specify options.
Please ensure you check the charges settings, I have only created some as an example on how it is done.Specify the

Usage cost is added in specified time intervals. For example: each 15 minutes, add 5.00. the last interval is repeated for every interval afterward.
You can specify different pricing for each interval to accommodate specials.

Client Installation
clientsetup7.exe is the setup file for the client file and its support files.
Copy this file to your terminals and run it to install.
(Note, some VB6 support files might be updated)
The client application will launch after setup is complete.
Setting up the Client
After the client has launched it will display the "Control Panel"
Click on the Settings button
Specify the IP address of the computer the server software is installed on.
You can specify a background to be used on the client file.
Click on the administration tab to set restrictions on the terminal. These restrictions are windows tweaks, they can only be undone with the client file again.
Note: They are also undone when you select "Uninstall" on the icon menu on the server application.
Client Version 7.0.1 Changes
Removed autolock timerClick on the Misc tab.
Tick to launch the browser when the client unlock. This will use the default installed browser.
Set the bandwidth threshold. This threshold is in place to try and avoid charging for normal network traffic. You may revise this option if you experience overcharging when a charge amount for data has been entered.
Click Lock to lockup the terminal.
